RELIEF PARTNERS UGANDA

Relief Partners Uganda is a Non-Governmental Organization, we address the world’s first Sustainable Development Goal-No Poverty. Relief Partners Uganda’s passion and specialty is to eradicate ultra-poverty in rural communities. We emphasize engagement, inclusion, participation and capacity enhancement of the poor to attain and sustain self-sufficiency.

 

Relief Partners Uganda’s work is based on three broad Thematic areas;

WOMEN SOCIO-ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

Increasing the economic power of the low-power groups, so that they more nearly equal the power of the high-power groups is our specialty. The indigents have innate ability to determine the factors and processes that influence their lives provided their attitudes and mindsets change. Relief partners Uganda promotes women led economic activities at individual or group level.

YOUTH AGRIPRENEURSHIP

Relief Partners Uganda promotes youth entrepreneurs whose businesses are in agriculture or agriculture related. Uganda’s comparative advantage lies in  agriculture, youth unemployment is steadily rising yet over 75% of Uganda’s population are youth, implying that investing in youth agripreneurship is synonymous to securing a future national insurance policy.

CLIMATE AND NATURAL RESOURCE GOVERNANCE

The connection between the effects of climate change and human wellbeing is blindly obvious, human activities have no doubt been the primary contributors to climate change and depletion of natural resources. Relief Partners Uganda restores forest cover, and fruit trees in communities, use of energy efficient means of cooking, and renewable energy.

To enhance people’s mindset to seize opportunities for self-reliance

  • To empower rural women, through inspiring, and helping them to start and sustain enterprises in agriculture, trade, and crafts-making to eradicate ultra- poverty.
  • To promote Youth agripreneurship so as to equip rural youth with the latest developed innovations in agriculture, encourage them to utilize them, and enhance their farming skills hence reducing youth unemployment.
  • To promote sustainable nature-friendly human practices which protect and preserve the environment so as to mitigate climate change, restore and maintain ambient climate suitable for agriculture and settlement.
